WIZARD VASES
2020



“Wizard” vases extend my research and follow up on “Witch” vases.

Inspired by the romantic atmosphere of winter, those vases refer to the cooking moment of clay.

Through plate work, four earthenware shades mingle to create a random pattern, always different.
Sometimes aided by the cutting of small preliminary shapes, each motif evokes the object's grip in the flames during its firing. These burns in the mass are sometimes illustrated, sometimes mentioned.

The full and cup form of this series emphasizes a gender ambiguity and allows dialogue between past and future projects.

 This month, I clothe my nights’ coat to hide from the shadows at the time when leaves are blushing, when my nights shade my days, when they strike while the sun is sleeping away.
